Is Your God-Given Gift Stalling Your Growth?
A spiritual gift is not meant to become a resting place. It is meant to be used, developed and directed towards serving God and others. When we only admire our abilities, calling or opportunities, we may stop growing through them. Matthew 25 teaches that what is entrusted to us should be put to work. Likewise, 1 Timothy 4 urges believers not to neglect their gifts, but to practise them so that progress can be seen. Gifts can fade under comfort, hesitation and inaction. Ask yourself whether you have mistaken your gift for the goal, settled into comfort instead of obedience, or delayed action while waiting for permission. This week, take one practical step: teach, serve, create or begin the task you have postponed. A gift is fulfilled when it is faithfully stewarded.
