Kano State Sacks Lawyer Over Forgery and Misleading Legal Advice
Kano State Ministry of Justice has dismissed State Counsel Mustapha Nura-Muhammad for allegedly forging names and signatures of senior legal officers to issue unauthorised advice in court cases. Investigations revealed he falsified the signature of F.T. Ahmad to implicate an innocent suspect in an armed robbery trial and later forged Chief State Counsel B.A. Ahmad’s signature to terminate proceedings in another armed robbery and kidnapping case. An internal disciplinary committee suspended him before the Civil Service Commission approved his dismissal under state rules. The Attorney General affirmed zero tolerance for actions that undermine justice. The ministry will refer the matter to the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee for professional sanctions and pursue criminal prosecution to protect the integrity of the justice system.
