Hosts Morocco beat Algeria 1-0 in a tense Group A clash at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. After a goalless first half in which both sides struggled to create clear chances, Sanaa Mssoudy scored in the 84th minute to secure the win for the Atlas Lionesses. Morocco now lead Group A with six points from two matches. Algeria remain on three points, level with Senegal, who defeated Kenya 1-0 earlier. Morocco are chasing a first WAFCON title after finishing runners-up in 2022 and 2024, including their 3-2 final defeat to Nigeria’s Super Falcons in 2024.
