Did the Bible Ever Create Religions Called Judaism and Christianity?
People often describe Judaism, Christianity and Islam as the three Abrahamic religions. But where does the Bible say that God called the law given to Israel “Judaism”? Where did Jesus, Paul, Peter or the other early disciples say they were creating a new religion called “Christianity”? I believe Judaism and Christianity are later Western labels rather than the original faith described in Scripture. In my view, these labels have been used to distort biblical truth and will not last forever. Daniel 8:11–13 describes the daily sacrifice being removed, the sanctuary cast down and truth being trampled underfoot. I interpret the “Prince of the host” as Jesus Christ, and the sanctuary as the temple in Jerusalem, which the Romans destroyed. What is your interpretation of this passage and its relevance to modern religious labels?
