Edo Carnival 2026 Explained: Tourism Agency’s Role in Spotlight

Edo Carnival 2026 Explained: Tourism Agency’s Role in Spotlight

Edo Carnival 2026 is a privately driven cultural and tourism project. It showcases Edo State globally through arts, music, hospitality and economic activities. The event is part of a destination-promotion strategy. The Edo State Tourism Agency formally recognizes and supports this initiative. It is not managed by the Ministry of Arts and Culture. The Agency’s mandate covers visitor attraction, creative events and positive branding for the state. Director-General Vivian Elabo has endorsed the carnival’s vision and continues to provide institutional backing. The public is encouraged to back all government bodies and private partners working to enhance Edo State’s unity and global profile.

It's notable that a private sector is leading this major event without clear public accountability or oversight in place.
