Court Grants ₦2m Bail to Man Accused of ₦10.8m Theft in Abuja
A 27-year-old man, Douglas Josiah of Akarak Village, appeared before the Life Camp Magistrate’s Court in Abuja on charges of criminal conspiracy, mischief and theft. Prosecutors allege that Josiah and an accomplice forced entry into a 20-foot container on June 20 and stole goods worth ₦10.8 million. During police investigations, he reportedly made a confessional statement admitting the offence. Magistrate Ramlatu Yusuf admitted Josiah to bail in the sum of ₦2 million, with two sureties each of the same amount. The court ordered that each surety be a Level 9 civil servant and provide reliable identification. The case was adjourned to August 17 for hearing.
