Osimhen Wins King of the Pitch and Best Striker at 2025 Nigeria Pitch Awards
Victor Osimhen was the biggest winner at the 12th Nigeria Pitch Awards in Lagos, claiming the King of the Pitch prize and the Rashidi Yekini Award for Best Striker. Alex Iwobi won Midfielder of the Year, Calvin Bassey was named Defender of the Year and Stanley Nwabali took Goalkeeper of the Year. Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade received the Queen of the Pitch award, while Justine Madugu was named Coach of the Year after guiding Nigeria to its 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title. Remo Stars emerged Team of the Year, with chairman Kunle Soname receiving the Sam Okwaraji Award and Sportsmanship Award. Lagos State won Best Grassroots Football Development Programme, while the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium was named Football Pitch of the Year. The awards organisers also announced an Emerging Star Award for Nigerian players under 18, beginning from the next edition.
