Akwa Ibom Approves Appointment Letters for 4,000 Civil Service Recruits

Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno has approved the immediate release of appointment letters to 4,000 successful applicants in the state civil service recruitment exercise. The appointments will take effect on October 1, 2026, while the new workers are expected to resume duties on October 2. The state also approved the recruitment of 2,000 additional teachers through the State Universal Basic Education Board. The government said it has recruited or approved about 7,069 personnel across the civil service, education, healthcare, judiciary and other key sectors. It said the exercise is intended to fill manpower gaps and improve public service delivery.
