Ex-Power Minister Saleh Mamman Gets 75-Year Jail Term for N33.8bn Fraud
A Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced former Power Minister Saleh Mamman to 75 years behind bars for laundering and defrauding N33.8 billion. He was convicted on all 12 counts brought by the EFCC. The judge handed seven years on ten counts and three and two years on two other counts. The terms will run consecutively, with no option of fines except a N10 million penalty on one count. Authorities also ordered the forfeiture of recovered foreign currencies and four Abuja properties linked to Mamman. An arrest warrant has been issued and security agencies will work with Interpol to effect his detention.
