What Skincare Routine Works for Oily Skin and Dark Spots in Nigeria’s Humid Weather?

I have been struggling to find a skincare routine that can handle Nigeria’s heat and humidity. Heavy products make my face oilier and trigger breakouts, but very light products do not seem to help my dark spots or old acne marks. I have tried local and imported brightening creams. Some improved my skin tone slightly, while others did nothing or caused irritation. Sun exposure also seems to affect how my skin responds to active ingredients. For people with oily skin who have found a routine that works long-term, what products or ingredients have helped? I would especially like recommendations for cleansers, lightweight moisturisers, sunscreen textures, and affordable ways to fade post-acne marks without clinic treatments.

Has anyone found a routine that fades old acne marks without becoming too heavy for the heat and humidity?

Exactly, lighter routines make more sense here; piling on heavy products can feel like solving one problem with another.

It sounds frustrating when products meant for dark spots also make breakouts and oiliness worse.

More brightening products may not automatically solve it if each new cream is also triggering breakouts.

A simple routine with lighter layers may make it easier to notice which product is helping and which one causes extra oiliness.
