Until That Day: A Promise of New Wine in God’s Kingdom

In the upper room Jesus paused the Passover cup and spoke of a future celebration. Matthew 26:29 shifts our focus from sacrifice to hope. He set aside the cup of this world so He could pick up a new cup in His Father’s kingdom. That promise spans the time between Calvary and His return. The “new wine” paints a picture of ultimate restoration—joy, abundance, and the end of pain. It points to the Messianic banquet where sin and death hold no power. Jesus delays His own joy until we share the feast “with you.” He could have celebrated alone, yet He waits for every redeemed soul. This invitation calls us to drop our past, turn from sin, and embrace His grace. If you sense emptiness or longing, accept that invitation by confessing your need and trusting Christ as Lord and Savior. Speak from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I turn from my old life and receive You as my King. Cleanse me and prepare me to share the new wine in Your kingdom. Amen.”
