My Mum Locked Me Outside All Night After We Went to Church
I visited my mum in a nearby city because I wanted us to spend time together and make new memories. She said she wanted a pastor to pray for me, so we went to church and were given perfume and soap for financial breakthrough prayers. We got home around 5 p.m. Later, I stepped out to spend time with a friend and returned around 9 p.m. I knocked repeatedly, but my mum refused to open the door. She told me in Yoruba to go back to where I was coming from. I stayed outside for hours with a dead phone, no food or water, and mosquitoes everywhere. Even after midnight, she kept the door locked and cursed at me through the window. A stranger eventually opened the door in the morning. I packed my bags and left because I felt deeply hurt and unsafe. Do you think the church items affected her behaviour, or was she simply wrong to lock me outside without explanation?
