Tansian University Proprietors Reject Acting VC Appointment, Back Nwadialor
The Missionary Servants of the Church and the Incorporated Trustees of Tansian University have asked the National Universities Commission to continue recognising Prof. Eugene Okoye Nwadialor as the institution’s substantive Vice-Chancellor. In a September 29 letter to the commission, the proprietors said Nwadialor was appointed for a five-year term effective from May 6, 2024, and that his tenure runs until May 5, 2029. They argued that no lawful vacancy exists to support the appointment of Prof. Nnamdi Umeoduagu as acting Vice-Chancellor. The group said the procedure set out in the Tansian University Law, 2007, was not followed and submitted appointment documents to support its position.
