Choosing Dignity: Polygamy to Rescue Vulnerable Sisters
Grace and peace to you. I write as a fellow traveller in faith. I want us to consider a practice from our biblical heritage: a man taking another wife. We see this in Abraham, Jacob, David, and Moses. The Law of Moses regulated polygamy but did not forbid it. Scripture shows that this was lawful under the old covenant. I look around and see women forced into prostitution. They lack protection and provision. Is it not kinder to call a woman a wife rather than a harlot? This model provides for the vulnerable and reflects Christ’s sacrificial love. It challenges us to open our hearts and homes. Will you choose dignity and life for those in need?
