FG Highlights Recent Military Successes in Battle Against Terrorism and Banditry
The federal government has shared a detailed account of its latest security operations across key regions. It says troops have rescued kidnapped victims, dismantled criminal networks and neutralised insurgents in the North-East, North-West, North-Central and parts of the South-East. In Benue, a coordinated mission freed 13 passengers from kidnappers. In Plateau State, Operation Enduring Peace led to arrests of suspected militia members and recovery of weapons. Forces also intervened in farmer-herder clashes and cattle rustling incidents. Troops under Operation Hadin Kai foiled Boko Haram and ISWAP attacks in Borno and Yobe. In Sokoto and Kogi, soldiers repelled assaults, destroyed a terrorist camp and intercepted insurgent supplies. Joint patrols in Imo uncovered and defused improvised explosive devices. The Presidency notes these successes alongside Nigeria’s contributions at global counterterrorism forums. It says sustained operations reflect commitment to restoring security and urges greater public support for the armed forces.
