Super Falcons Lose Demehin and Echegini to Suspension for Crucial Egypt Match
The Super Falcons will be without Oluwatosin Demehin and Jennifer Echegini for their decisive final Group C match against Egypt at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. Demehin was sent off in the 40th minute of Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Zambia after fouling Barbra Banda as she raced through on goal. She will serve a one-match suspension. Echegini is also suspended after picking up her second yellow card of the tournament against Zambia. Nigeria must now face Egypt without the two players as they seek a place in the knockout stage after their earlier loss to Malawi.
