NDDC Begins Reconstruction of 15.4km Failed Benin-Sapele Expressway Section

The Niger Delta Development Commission has deployed two contractors to reconstruct a 15.4-kilometre failed section of the Benin-Sapele Expressway, following a directive from President Bola Tinubu. The project was flagged off at Amukpe Roundabout in Delta State. China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation and Ronin and Fan Limited will work from opposite ends of the corridor to speed up completion. NDDC officials said the road will be rebuilt with rigid concrete pavement. They said the intervention is intended to reduce prolonged gridlock, improve movement of goods and strengthen economic activities along the East-West corridor. Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori welcomed the project, describing it as a boost for residents, motorists and businesses in the state.
