Chelsea Near €40m Deal for Nigeria-Eligible Defender Honest Ahanor

Chelsea are reportedly close to signing Atalanta defender Honest Ahanor in a deal worth about €40 million, or roughly ₦62.8 billion. Talks are said to have advanced, with personal terms being finalised. The 18-year-old made 28 Serie A appearances in his first season at Atalanta and also featured in the Champions League. Atalanta signed him from Genoa last summer for an initial €16 million, with further add-ons possible. Ahanor has represented Italy at youth level but is also eligible to play for Nigeria. A move to Chelsea could raise his profile among Super Eagles supporters as Nigeria monitors his international future.
