Governor Otu Approves Two Months' Allowances for 540 Cross River Security Volunteers
Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu has approved the payment of two months' allowances to about 540 Homeland Safety and Security Agency volunteers serving in the Northern Senatorial District. The allowances were disbursed at the agency's Ogoja headquarters. The agency's northern director said the payment recognises the volunteers' role in supporting conventional security agencies and helping to curb crime, kidnapping and other threats in local communities. The volunteers were urged to remain disciplined and vigilant. Their representatives thanked the state government and pledged continued support for community policing and peace across Cross River North.
