Rapper iHeartMemphis Arrested in Florida After Alleged Burglary and Escape Attempt
Rapper iHeartMemphis, born Richard Maurice Colbert, was taken into custody on February 18 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Police say he blocked a public roadway with cones, foliage, and cinder blocks, then refused orders to remove them and fled from officers. Authorities allege he jumped fences, entered backyards and tried to access several homes before being tracked down at a nearby residence. He was treated for a leg injury at a hospital and then booked on three felony burglary counts and misdemeanour charges for obstructing a roadway and resisting officers. He has pleaded not guilty and is due back in court on April 14.
