Ogun Women Urged to Prioritise Health Checks and Healthy Living
Women in Ogun State have been encouraged to make their health a priority, with experts noting that a woman’s wellbeing supports a healthier family and society. At the 2026 public lecture of the Surveyors’ Wives Association of Nigeria in Abeokuta, participants were advised not to neglect personal care while caring for their families. The Chief Medical Director of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, Dr. Oluwabunmi Fatungase, recommended regular breast checks, blood pressure and blood sugar tests, and cervical cancer screening. She also urged women to get enough rest and sleep, eat fresh fruits, and reduce their intake of preserved foods. The event also featured awards for deserving members and the investiture of new patrons of the association.
