West Ham Legend Ludek Miklosko Dies Aged 64 After Cancer Battle
Former West Ham United and Czech international goalkeeper Ludek Miklosko has died at the age of 64, five years after being diagnosed with cancer. Miklosko joined West Ham from Banik Ostrava in 1990 and made 373 appearances during seven years at the London club. He helped the Hammers win promotion to England’s top flight in 1991 and 1993, becoming a lasting favourite among supporters. After retiring as a player, he returned to West Ham as a goalkeeping coach. The club and Banik Ostrava have paid tribute to Miklosko, while his family thanked supporters for their backing throughout his illness. West Ham will hold a tribute before their League Cup match against Fulham. Miklosko earned 40 caps for Czechoslovakia and later represented the Czech Republic.
