Listening to Jesus in Life’s Storms
Jesus told His disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” Soon a violent storm battered their boat. While the waves crashed, Jesus slept. The frightened disciples cried, “Don’t you care if we drown?” Jesus awoke and calmed the storm. Then He asked, “Do you still have no faith?” They had forgotten His promise amid the chaos. Like them, we face storms that threaten to overturn our peace. We must choose to hear Christ over the crisis. Meditation on Scripture roots our faith. As Joshua was told, “Meditate on the Word day and night,” so we too should recite and rehearse God’s promises. Paul urged believers to let Christ’s message dwell richly among them. Begin your time with prayer: “Lord, speak to my heart as I read.” Then open your Bible and hold fast to His Word until it strengthens your faith.
