UN Warns Ebola Crisis in DR Congo Could Worsen as Death Toll Reaches 2,700

The United Nations says at least 2,700 people have died in the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with about 500 new cases reported each week. Health agencies have deployed experts, medical supplies, burial teams and community volunteers. Neighbouring countries, including Burundi, are also strengthening preparedness measures against possible cross-border transmission.
