Witnessing the Wonder of Christ’s Ascension
Jesus once asked, “What if you see the Son of Man return to where He was before?” (John 6:62). He knew His ascension would be the ultimate proof of His divine origin for anyone who watched Him rise into heaven. Even after His resurrection, some who walked and ate with Him still doubted. His biological siblings remained unconvinced until they saw Him ascend bodily before their eyes. In that moment every question ended and faith was born. That awe-inspiring event not only revealed His deity but also set the stage for the gift of the Holy Spirit. His family joined the disciples in the upper room and experienced God’s power firsthand. Today, the ascension stands as a guarantee of His return and a cornerstone of our faith. Prayer/Confession: How glorious You are, O Lord! My faith rests on Your resurrection and triumphant ascension. I proclaim Your majesty now and always, living in the hope of Your return. Amen. For further reflection, read Acts 1:9-11 and 1 Timothy 3:16. You may follow a one-year reading plan (e.g., Luke 11:1-13; Judges 1-2) or a two-year plan (e.g., Romans 8:1-11; Psalm 109).
