Ronaldo Respects Messi Fans but Insists He Is Football’s Most Complete Player

1 / 3

Cristiano Ronaldo says he respects fans who choose Lionel Messi, Pelé or Diego Maradona ahead of him. However, he insists that calling him anything less than a complete player is unfair. In an interview with a Portuguese broadcaster, Ronaldo said he considers himself the most complete player in football history. He also dismissed the pressure surrounding his pursuit of 1,000 career goals, saying the milestone would be welcome but would not define his legacy. The Messi-Ronaldo debate remains one of football’s biggest arguments. Messi has won the World Cup and Copa América with Argentina, while Ronaldo has won the European Championship and two UEFA Nations League titles with Portugal. Ronaldo also holds five UEFA Champions League titles, compared with Messi’s four.
