Has the Nigerian Church Met the Mustard Seed Test?

In Matthew 13:31–32, Jesus compares the kingdom of heaven to a mustard seed that grows into a tree large enough to provide shelter for birds. This raises a difficult question: where was the Nigerian Church’s mustard seed planted, and where is the tree that should be providing shade for people in need? First Corinthians 3:5–7 teaches that people may plant and water, but God gives the increase. So where are the fruits of that increase? With so many churches, prayers and religious programmes, why do poverty, hunger and hopelessness remain so widespread in Nigeria? Where are the visible fruits of the Nigerian Church in the lives of ordinary Nigerians?
