The Sandman Has Ended After Season 2, With No Season 3 Planned

The Sandman has ended on Netflix after two seasons and will not return for Season 3. Netflix has not announced a new season, special episode, or follow-up project. Season 2 was released in batches in July 2025, with the final episodes concluding Dream’s main story. Showrunner Allan Heinberg said the series was planned around Dream’s central comic-book arc, which could be told across two seasons. The show’s high production costs also made another season less likely unless it reached the scale of Netflix’s biggest global hits. Reports claiming the series would return soon are outdated. Netflix also cancelled Dead Boy Detectives after one season.
