Spotting Early Breast Changes: Signs You Shouldn’t Ignore

Regular self-checks help you detect breast problems early. You only need to know what’s normal for your body and watch for any changes. Feel for new lumps or thickened areas in your breast or underarm. Look for changes in shape, size, skin dimpling, redness, or nipple changes such as inversion, crusting, or unusual discharge. Persistent pain in one spot for more than two weeks also deserves attention. Do a monthly self-exam by inspecting your breasts in the mirror with arms at your sides and raised. Then use three fingers in small circles to cover the entire breast, armpit, and collarbone—both lying down and in the shower. Track what’s normal, and if you notice anything unusual, see a health professional right away. Early detection saves lives.

It seems most guides stress lump detection, yet skin dimpling and nipple changes often get overlooked in those self-check routines.

I'm not convinced that everyone needs monthly checks; realistic schedules might be more practical than strict routines we rarely follow.
