Nigerian Medical Student Killed in Kharkiv Airstrike Days Before Graduation
A 23-year-old Nigerian studying at Kharkiv National Medical University died from injuries sustained during a Russian airstrike on June 29. She was struck in the Kholodnohirskyi district of Kharkiv and later evacuated to Germany, where doctors battled to save her life. The university praised her as bright, kind-hearted, and devoted to helping others. She had been due to receive her diploma within days and had interned at Cambridge and Biruni University in Turkey. Her friend, Fatima Huseynova, died at the scene, and a total of 12 people were injured in the attack. The tragedy underscores the dangers faced by international students caught in conflict zones.
