Inside Africa Creative Market 2026: Key Moments from Lusaka

Inside Africa Creative Market 2026: Key Moments from Lusaka — 1 of 20
1 / 20

We headed to Lusaka, Zambia from June 29 to July 4 for Africa Creative Market 2026. In partnership with CIBSZ and KWIMBO, the city became a vibrant hub for Africa’s creative economy. Day one opened with the ACM × CIBSZ ceremony on positioning Zambia as a creative and digital powerhouse. We joined sessions on YouTube monetisation, Creative Capital investments and Visual Arts and Craft innovation. We explored legal and tech forums on copyright, royalties, AfCFTA opportunities, AI filmmaking and animation. The Women in Film & TV and Theatre & Dance summits highlighted inclusion and new career pathways for African talent. The final days showcased fashion, music and the ACM Next Level Competition before the KWIMBO National Arts Festival. We wrapped up with a visit to Chaminuka Nature Reserve, reflecting on fresh ideas, meaningful connections and Africa’s creative future.

It seems ambitious to call Lusaka a creative hub after only a five-day event, we'll need to see lasting impact beyond the ceremony.

True, a week of highlights is thrilling, but real growth shows up in what happens months after the spotlights fade.

Organizers should document workshops and provide digital access so creatives across Africa can benefit from the Lusaka sessions.
