A groom at Kano State’s mass wedding said he had taken a fourth wife, having already married three women. The ceremony brought together 1,500 couples. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf said the state committed more than ₦1.5 billion to the 2026 programme as part of its support for newly married couples and a campaign pledge.
