Planning My First Trip Abroad to Watch the EPL in 2027—What Should I Know?
I’m hoping to travel from Nigeria to Europe in 2027 to watch a Premier League match, or possibly a Champions League game if my budget allows. I’ve followed football on TV for years, but I’ve never travelled outside Nigeria and would love to experience the atmosphere in a stadium. For anyone who has gone, how early should I arrange tickets? Do some clubs require membership, and should I secure a match ticket before applying for a visa? I’m also trying to work out a realistic budget for flights, accommodation, transport, food and match tickets, especially with the exchange rate. How much should I set aside? Since it would be my first international trip, I’d appreciate advice about the visa process and paying for tickets on foreign websites, including what to do if a Nigerian bank card doesn’t work. If you’ve travelled from Nigeria to watch the EPL, Champions League or La Liga without using a travel agent, please share what you learned.
