Federal Polytechnic Offa Lecturers Suspend Strike as Second-Semester Exams Resume
Lecturers at the Federal Polytechnic Offa have temporarily suspended their indefinite strike following interventions by education stakeholders, traditional leaders and the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics leadership. The union said it returned to work after receiving letters addressing concerns about campus security and allegations against it. It also said part-time lecturers’ claims were being paid and the outstanding retirement endowment balance had been disbursed. Second-semester examinations resume on Monday, 21 September. Exams earlier scheduled for 16, 17 and 18 September have been moved to 6, 7 and 8 October respectively.
