I am 39, financially stable and building a fulfilling career in Lagos, but loneliness still finds me. After leaving a marriage marked by betrayal, I rebuilt my life around work, independence and boundaries. My family history shaped many of my fears about love. I watched my mother and sister survive painful relationships, and I lost my sister to domestic violence shortly before my wedding. For years, people said the women in my family were cursed in love.
