Alake Meets U.S. Officials to Seek Investment in Nigeria’s Critical Minerals

Minister of Solid Minerals Development Dele Alake led a Nigeria Solid Minerals Company delegation to Washington, D.C., for talks aimed at attracting United States investment into Nigeria’s critical-minerals sector. The delegation met with David Copley of the U.S. National Security Council to discuss cooperation on geological exploration, mining, processing, refining and secure supply chains for minerals needed for the global energy transition. They also held talks with Diana London of DCI Group on investment opportunities and local value addition. The engagement is expected to support Nigeria’s push for industrialisation, jobs and diversification beyond oil.
