Lagos Education Commissioner Monitors School Resumption, Checks Teacher Attendance
Lagos State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun, has led monitoring visits to public schools as the 2026/2027 academic session begins. The exercise assessed school readiness, staff and student attendance, and compliance with resumption directives. At Keke Senior High School in Agege, the commissioner inspected facilities, met with teachers and administrators, and conducted a roll call to check staff attendance. He urged students to stay focused, participate actively in class and build a strong foundation for their future. The ministry's permanent secretary, Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite, also visited Technical and Vocational School, Agidingbi, and Babs Fafunwa Grammar School, Ojodu. Senior ministry officials were deployed across Lagos schools to monitor the start of teaching and learning statewide.
