APC National Secretary: Party Leadership Picks Candidates, Not Primaries

In a viral video, APC National Secretary Dr Ajibola Basiru said the party does not choose candidates through primaries. He stated that the national leadership decides who will run for president, Senate and House of Representatives. He dismissed claims of genuine primaries as a ruse and urged aspirants to accept the selection process. Basiru also warned members against insulting civil servants ahead of the August 15 governorship poll, praising their role in governance and communities. He added that victory requires hard work, unity and reconciliation at every ward and polling unit. “There is nothing like automatic victory in politics,” he said.
