Bauchi State Permanent Secretary Dies During 2026 Hajj in Makkah
Shehu Yahaya Jalam, Turakin Dawakin Misau and Permanent Secretary for Special Services in the Bauchi State Government, passed away in Makkah on Sunday, May 17, 2026, after a brief illness during the ongoing Hajj pilgrimage. The Bauchi State Government confirmed his death in a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity. Jalam was praised for his dedication and significant role in coordinating previous Hajj operations and other key assignments. Funeral prayers were held after Zuhr at the Holy Mosque of the Kaaba in Makkah. Governor Bala Mohammed extended condolences to the family, the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, the Misau and Dambam Emirate Councils, and all who benefited from Jalam’s service.
