7 Preschool Selection Mistakes Parents Should Avoid

7 Preschool Selection Mistakes Parents Should Avoid

Choosing a preschool is one of the first major decisions I make as a parent. A nearby school or attractive building may be convenient, but neither guarantees that a child will be safe, supported, and eager to learn. Before enrolling your child, look beyond the location and facilities. Ask about the school’s teaching approach, the qualifications and experience of its teachers, how it supports shy or anxious children, and how it communicates with parents. Also check its security procedures, hygiene standards, supervision, play areas, and emergency plans. Every child learns at a different pace, so I avoid comparing mine with others. I also believe a school visit is essential. Watching how teachers relate with children and seeing whether pupils look comfortable and engaged can reveal far more than a brochure or social-media page. What mattered most when you chose a preschool: teachers, safety, curriculum, location, or the learning environment?
