Christian Okonkwo Crowned Entrepreneur of the Year at 2026 AMTY Awards
High Chief Christian Okonkwo, CEO of C-Energy Oil & Gas Ltd, was honoured as Entrepreneur of the Year at Anambra’s premier AMTY Awards held on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Founder of Chris-Bethel Logistics, Real Estate, and C-Energy Pharmaceutical, Okonkwo spoke of starting his electrical business in Lagos with just ₦30,000 raised by his parents. He credited his success to determination, perseverance, and learning from setbacks. “Whenever something failed, I gathered what remained and started again,” he reflected. Other notable awardees included Most Rev. Dr. Valerian Okeke, Archbishop of Onitsha; Mrs. Amaka Onwughalu, Chairman of Fidelity Bank; Prof. Joy Ezeilo, Founder of WACOL; and Iyom Joy Egolum of Nigerian Breweries Plc.
