NPFL Fines Ranchers Bees ₦5m Over Security, Player and Fan Misconduct
Ranchers Bees have been fined ₦5 million by the Nigeria Premier Football League over several breaches during their Matchday 6 game against Rivers United. The club was fined ₦2 million for inadequate security after unauthorised people accessed restricted stadium areas. It received another ₦1 million fine after players and bench officials allegedly intimidated match officials. Ranchers Bees were also fined ₦1 million over supporters who allegedly attempted to attack officials, and a further ₦1 million after officials were reportedly held hostage after the match. The club must identify a player seen assaulting a Rivers United player by October 1 or face further disciplinary action. The club has 48 hours to accept the sanctions or request a hearing before the NPFL Disciplinary Panel. The fines are due within seven working days after the appeal period expires.
