Is Your Name Written in the Book of Life?
“Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come.” (Revelation 14:7) Since 1844, our great High Priest has been conducting the investigative judgment in the heavenly sanctuary. Every believer’s life comes under review. Names are examined, and only those whose sins are truly repented and forgiven remain in the Book of Life. We are now in the antitypical Day of Atonement. Each of us must afflict our souls by genuine repentance and humble self-examination. Salvation is a personal matter. No one’s devotion can substitute for another’s. Only those whose characters reflect Christ’s righteousness will stand without spot or wrinkle. Our Father in heaven, thank You for Your grace and mercy. We confess every sin, even those we have minimized. Apply the merits of Jesus’ sacrifice to our lives as our cases come before You. Grant us newness of life and victory over temptation. Bless our health, our finances, and every aspect of our lives, that we may testify to Your goodness. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and soon-coming King, Amen.
