FIFA Rankings: Morocco Lead Africa as Nigeria Place Fourth
Morocco remain Africa’s highest-ranked men’s national team in FIFA’s July 2026 rankings, rising to sixth in the world after reaching the World Cup quarter-finals. Senegal are second in Africa at 18th globally, while Egypt climbed to third on the continent after their Round of 16 run. Nigeria are ranked fourth in Africa and 26th in the world, despite missing the World Cup. Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, DR Congo, Cameroon, Mali and South Africa complete Africa’s top 10. Morocco’s 1,803.99 points represent the highest-ever FIFA ranking achieved by an African men’s national team. South Africa recorded the biggest rise among the African top 10, climbing six places to 54th globally.
