Former Chelsea and Leeds striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says he would thrive even more in today’s Premier League. In a recent interview, he argued that modern defenders are less physical than those he faced in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He also pointed out that current referees protect attackers more, giving forwards extra chances per match. Hasselbaink scored 127 Premier League goals with Chelsea, Leeds United, Middlesbrough and Charlton Athletic. He insists the rule changes and style of play now would help him add even more to his tally.
