EFCC Allows Food for Rebecca’s Family After 13 Days of Deprivation—But Utilities Remain Cut
After nearly two weeks, the EFCC has finally permitted Engineer Isaac Ishaku Yusuf to bring food and essential supplies to his wife, Mrs Rebecca Omokamo Godwin-Isaac, inside their home in Guzape, Abuja. Despite this small win, Mrs Rebecca still has no water, electricity or cooking gas. Her family says the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is flouting a Federal High Court order to maintain the pre-dispute condition of her home. Human-rights groups and concerned Nigerians stepped in to apply public pressure. The family insists that food alone does not restore safety or dignity. They are calling on law enforcement agencies, the judiciary and civil-society organisations to ensure the court’s directive is enforced in full—and to guarantee that no citizen must fight for basic rights while a legal matter is pending.
