COOUTH, Nigerian Army Strengthen Medical Support Partnership in Awka
The management of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka, has held talks with the Nigerian Army’s 15 Brigade on improving medical support for military personnel. During a courtesy visit, the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General S. Ahmadu, commended the hospital for treating soldiers referred to the facility, especially personnel injured while on duty. He urged the hospital to continue responding promptly to military emergencies. The Chief Medical Director, Dr. Maureen Uche Umeakuewulu, said the partnership would support patient referrals, staff healthcare, outpatient services and easier access to treatment. She added that soldiers can identify themselves with their military identity cards when seeking care at the hospital.
