IGP Disu Sends Eid-el-Fitr Greetings, Orders Nationwide Security Measures
As Psalm 150:6 reminds us, every breath praises the Lord. IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu extends warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across Nigeria on the successful completion of Ramadan and the joyous celebration of Eid-el-Fitr. He has directed Commissioners of Police and Tactical Commanders in all states and the Federal Capital Territory to implement robust security arrangements. These include strategic deployment of tactical teams and intelligence operatives, plus special intervention squads at prayer grounds and critical infrastructure. There will be increased visibility policing, coordinated patrols, enhanced surveillance and intelligence-led stop-and-search duties on highways, at motor parks, recreational centres and other public spaces. These measures aim to deter crime and ensure swift responses to any threats. IGP Disu calls on everyone to remain vigilant, cooperate with law enforcement and report suspicious activities to the nearest station or emergency lines. He wishes all Muslim faithful a peaceful and blessed Eid-el-Fitr.
