FG Declares March 19–20 Public Holidays to Celebrate Eid-El-Fitr

The Federal Government has announced public holidays on Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026. The declaration was made by Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo on behalf of the government. In a statement issued by Permanent Secretary Magdalene Ajani, the minister extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful on completing Ramadan. He urged everyone to uphold the virtues of love, generosity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice emphasized during the holy month. Citizens were asked to pray for Nigeria’s continued unity and prosperity. The minister also encouraged responsible celebrations and acts of kindness toward the less privileged. The government reaffirmed its commitment to national unity and peaceful coexistence.
