Woman Seeks Refund After Ex-Husband Allegedly Moves New Wife Into Her Rented Apartment

A woman, Jamila Murtala, has asked the Mararaba Upper Area Court in Nasarawa State to order her ex-husband, Saminu, to refund the money she paid for an apartment and release her belongings. She alleged that after their marriage was dissolved, she travelled to inform her uncle. On her return, she found that the locks had been changed and that her ex-husband had moved his second wife into the apartment. Jamila told the court that she paid ₦12,000 for the apartment in 2020 and that Saminu had promised to refund her. He denied the allegations, while the judge adjourned the matter for a ruling.
